Clair allison
Owner & Head Trainer
Clair Allison is a lifelong equestrian with a deep passion for horses and a commitment to the sport. She has been riding and competing from a young age, earning 2nd in the nation in the AHJA/USEF/IHSA in 2002 and competing as a member of the Auburn Equestrian team from 1999 to 2003. Her love for the sport and dedication to horsemanship led her to build Clairmont Show Stables in 2004. Located in Sterrett, Alabama, Clairmont has grown into a premier hunter/jumper facility, where Clair channels her years of experience into teaching, training, and developing both horses and riders.
With training from renowned professionals like Anne Kenan of Hunter Hill Farm and Olympic medalist Greg Best, Clair brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the equestrian community. Her goal is to inspire and guide others in their equestrian journeys, whether they are just starting out or competing at advanced levels.
Mattie Morton
Assistant Trainer
We are thrilled to welcome Mattie to our team at Clairmont Show Stables! With over 20 years of riding experience and 6 years as a professional, Mattie brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our coaching staff. She began her journey as a junior rider with the Birmingham Interscholastic Equestrian Team (BIET) at Clairmont, where she earned national recognition, including a 3rd-place finish. During her career, she has excelled with the AHJA, IEA, and USEF, and has a deep love for teaching young riders.
Mattie’s favorite aspect of coaching is helping riders build a solid foundation, guiding them to become strong junior competitors, and instilling essential horsemanship skills. Her many years of experience starting green horses and ponies, along with her philosophy that "patience makes perfect," make her an invaluable addition to our program.
